Birth support
As it’s important for us to get to know each other we will meet
twice prior to your delivery date. These ante-natal meetings are important
for us to explore your pregnancy and hopes for labour. I can help you
to prepare a birth plan, giving you the information you need to make
your own choices. We can discuss any fears you have of labour, especially
if you have experienced a difficult labour previously. I will explain
my supporting role and what you can expect of me ‘on the night’.
It’s helpful if your partner of husband can be present at these
meetings as their role is of crucial importance. Although we will only
aim to meet twice, you will be able to contact me with any questions
or concerns by telephone or email.
When your labour starts you can call me when needed and I will be present
throughout. I can join you at the hospital or at your home.
My aim is to enable you and your partner to have a positive birthing
experience.
After the birth of their child women can sometimes feel they have a
great need to discuss what’s happened to them only to find that
no-one will truly listen. As part of my birth doula package I can meet
with you and your partner once after the birth, giving you the opportunity
to tell your story.
